Terms of Use
Before launch: replace the [square-bracket] details below with your own, then have a UK solicitor review this page. Delete this box when done.
1. Who we are
Yieldwell (“we”, “us”) is run by [BUSINESS NAME], [a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number [NUMBER] / a sole trader], of [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. You can contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
2. What Yieldwell is, and what it isn't
Yieldwell is an information and research tool. It shows data about UK and US dividend-paying shares and the largest cryptoassets, lets you track a portfolio you enter yourself, and lets you plan price levels (a “profit ladder”) and set alerts.
Yieldwell is not a broker, an exchange or a wallet. We don't hold your money or assets, buy or sell anything for you, or arrange deals. [BUSINESS NAME] is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We don't give personal recommendations. Scores, flags, yields, ladders and alerts are rule-based outputs from public data and the numbers you enter. They don't take your circumstances into account.
You make your own decisions and are responsible for them. Investments can fall as well as rise and you could lose some or all of what you put in. Cryptoassets are high risk, can fall sharply, and you may not be protected if something goes wrong. Past performance doesn't predict future results.
3. Data and accuracy
Prices, yields, dividend history and other market data come from third-party providers (currently Financial Modeling Prep and CoinGecko). It can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and dividend dates and amounts can change. Yields are calculated as a company's last annual dividend divided by the current price and are not a forecast. Alerts depend on that data and on email and push delivery, which can fail or be late, so don't rely on them for time-critical decisions. Where the app shows sample figures, it says so.
4. Your account
- You must be 18 or over and give us a real email address that you control. We'll ask you to confirm it.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.
- You can delete your account at any time from the account page. That removes your account and synced data from our systems (see the Privacy Policy for detail).
5. Early access, plans and prices
While the site says “Early access”, all features are available free of charge and may change or be limited before paid plans start. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you the price, what is included and how to cancel before you pay anything, and you won't be charged without your agreement. If you buy a paid plan as a consumer, you'll have the cancellation rights set out at checkout, including your statutory right to cancel within 14 days unless you ask us to start the service sooner and agree to lose that right as the law allows. Paid-plan terms will be added to this page before checkout is switched on.
6. Acceptable use
Don't: attempt to get into other people's accounts or our systems; overload or interfere with the service; scrape, copy or resell our data or the data of our providers; use bots or automated tools to access the service other than as the site provides; use Yieldwell to break the law; or upload anything unlawful. We can suspend or close accounts that do.
7. Our content and third-party data
The site, its design, text, scoring method and code belong to us or our licensors. You may use it for your own personal use. Market data belongs to its providers and is subject to their terms. Crypto data is provided by CoinGecko.
8. Availability and changes
We try to keep Yieldwell running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, pause or withdraw features, and we may update these terms. If a change is significant we'll tell you, and carrying on using Yieldwell afterwards means you accept the updated terms. If you don't, you can delete your account.
9. Our responsibility to you
We'll provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your legal rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we aren't liable for losses from investment or trading decisions you make, for errors or delays in third-party data, alerts or notifications, or for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen. While the service is free, our total liability to you for any one claim is limited to [£100]. [Solicitor to confirm this limit is reasonable.]
10. Ending things
You can stop using Yieldwell and delete your account whenever you like. We can close your account if you break these terms or if we stop providing the service, giving you reasonable notice where we can.
11. Complaints and the law
If something goes wrong, email [CONTACT EMAIL] and we'll aim to reply within 5 working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring a claim in your local courts. Otherwise the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, this doesn't affect your statutory rights.
